Vegetable Pickup is scheduled for each Wednesday from June 6 to October 17, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., at the Matthew 25 Ministry Hub office, 225 K Ave NW, Suite G. Cultivate Hope CSA will have 25 shares available for interested parties during the 2012 season. Up to ten of those shares may be claimed by persons of Taylor and Time Check neighborhoods at reduced rates. One share will normally provide enough produce for 2 adults and 2 children.

Community-supported agriculture (CSA) is a form of an alternative food network, a socio-economic model of agriculture and food distribution. A CSA consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farming operation where the growers and consumers share the risks and benefits of food production. CSAs usually offer a system of weekly delivery or pick-up of vegetables.

Advantages for consumers include eating ultra-fresh food, with all the flavor and vitamin benefits; getting exposed to new vegetables and new ways of cooking; developing a relationship with the farmer who grows their food; and learning more about how food is grown.
