In the Tool Library, we often get asked the question of how we compare with a conventional tool rental service. Here are my thoughts on our strengths:
1. We're more than a place to rent tools. We aim to be a community that shares knowledge and empowers individuals.
2. We're based in this community. The membership dues and fees paid by our members support our non-profit and keep our operation running!
3. By paying a membership upfront, our members pay less in the long term than at most tool rental services.
4. Our primary interest- the reason the Matthew 25 Tool Library was founded- is to strengthen our neighborhoods and the cities of the Greater Cedar Rapids Area. We've been dedicated from day one to giving people the tools they need to rebuild and improve their homes and communities.
5. Like most tool rental places, we have a wide variety of tools. Unlike a tool rental service, our members can borrow almost all of our tools for a week at a time. And renewing tools is only a phone call away!
