We're up and running. Here's how you can help! |
|
Friends,
Matthew 25's new temporary location is Sharon United Methodist Church, on the corner of 18th Ave. and 9th St. SW. This is an excellent location for carrying on our work in the Taylor neighborhood, as it is just outside the southern boundary of the neighborhood and was not damaged by flooding. Come see us here, and when you visit, we can put you to work!
Here are some ways we could use your help:
- Volunteers
- To serve lunches and visit with people (11:30-1:30 M-F)
- To roam the neighborhood, delivering cookies and listening (when you're available)
- Cookie bakers
- Clean-up teams. Please contact Melisa Bracht-Wagner (319-480-4469) at Marion First UMC, she is coordinating these.
- Financial donations
- Equipment losses and relocation are unbudgeted expenses that we have to cover if we are going to continue to do ministry well.
- Recovery tools and supplies
- Cleaning supplies, (gloves, masks, safety glasses, shovels, squeegies, etc.)
- Big items needed for recovery and rebuilding
- Pick-up truck; we could really use one of these, want to donate one?
- Pressure washers (gas powered)
- Generators
- Construction tools of all kinds
We really appreciate any help you can give, and we hope you'll take the time to get involved. There's a lot of great work to be done here!
Take heart,
Courtney and Clint
