Alice: I’m originally from New Jersey, and I graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in upstate New York about a year ago with a double major in Biology and Environmental Studies. Last year I served as an AmeriCorps in West Virginia with the Appalachian Forest Heritage Area. I’m currently serving Green Iowa AmeriCorps as the Outreach Coordinator, coordinating volunteer and civic engagement opportunities. I’m also assisting with the urban farm on Thursdays.

Hello! I’m Rose Cross, the Marketing Coordinator for Green Iowa. I’m from Massachusetts and have lived there all my life. I went to a small business school outside of Boston, Bentley University, and graduated with a degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy. My creativity allows me to connect marketing with sustainability so I can educate others about environmental and ecosystem conservation.

Katie: I was born in Cedar Rapids and grew up in Springville, IA. I graduated from Wartburg College in 2015 with a degree in Communications and Public Relations. After I graduated, I I spent a year in Denver working in Public Relations before deciding to return to Iowa and reconnect with my roots. I like to coach Softball and Volleyball, as well as spend time with my family. I’m so excited to join the Green Iowa Team and learn more about how non-profits operate and also to see how Matthew 25 is growing communities in Cedar Rapids.
Charlie: I was born in Keflavík, Iceland, and spent my formative years between Marion, Massachusetts, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Cedar Rapids. I attended the University of Iowa and the University of Iceland where I studied English, Visual Arts, and Linguistics. After graduation I moved to Prague, Czech Republic to teach English to elementary school kids. I love learning about language, new technologies and finding new ways to get involved with the community. I’m excited to be apart of the ever-changing Cedar Rapids community as well as learn and grow with Matthew 25!

Max: I’m originally from Pennsylvania, and have lived in New England and Nevada before moving to Iowa.  Since graduating from Pennsylvania State University, I’ve been working outdoors and teaching.  I moved to Reno, Nevada to build hiking trails, and also taught both in elementary schools and at the college level there. Here in Cedar Rapids, I’m putting my teaching experience to use as the education coordinator for Green Iowa.  I’m thrilled to be working in a position where I get to focus on environmental issues, and look forward to spending the year both with my Green Iowa teammates and Matthew 25.
