Matthew 25 believes that for kids to flourish, they need to be healthy. Children in the Taylor and Northwest Area neighborhoods have some of the highest obesity rates in the city. We are working to shift the food culture in these neighborhoods through the urban farm and school gardens.
We provide hands-on education that builds community among classmates and empowers students to make meaningful and long-term contributions to their own health and their community through gardening. Matthew 25 offers weekly, hands-on food education programming for students throughout the growing season. Schools that are currently participating include: Harrison Elementary, Madison Elementary, Taylor Elementary, & Roosevelt Middle School.
