School Collections

Matthew 25 is connected to a wide network of support through faith communities.  Periodically we tap into that network to collect needed items for families connected to schools on the near west side of Cedar Rapids.  In the past we've collected: socks and underwear, gifts and meals for Christmas, flood recovery supplies, books, games, and sporting goods.  To learn how you can contribute to our collection programs, please call us at (319) 362-2214 or send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Holiday Giving Opportunities

We want to let you know about a way you can support Taylor/ near Northwest families during Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year, Matthew 25 is partnering with Olivet Neighborhood Mission to provide families all the fixings for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.

Matthew 25 has committed to buying and distributing 40 Thanksgiving dinners and 40 Christmas dinners for families in need. We are hoping you will partner with us on this important project.

Through Share Iowa, the cost is only $50 for both meals. Thanksgiving dinners include turkey, potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, rolls, green beans and more. Christmas dinners include ham, potatoes, rolls, green beans, fresh vegetable and dessert.

We are asking churches or individuals to consider supporting families for Thanksgiving and / or Christmas.

• All you need to do is contribute $25 for one holiday meal for a family or $50 would provide both holiday meals to a family. Please forward your donation to Matthew 25 and we will take care of purchase and delivery of the Thanksgiving and Christmas Share Iowa food boxes.

•In addition to providing meals, Christmas gifts can be purchased and distributed (at least one week before Christmas).
