Volunteer with Matthew 25

Current volunteer opportunities include:

Groundswell Cafe

Volunteers play a major part in food service and preparation in our Groundswell Cafe, including cooking and baking, helping and greeting guests, washing and organizing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, rolling silverware, and packaging to-go meals.

Helpful skills:

Tool Library

Our Tool Library is fully sustained by the support of volunteers, who perform tasks like greeting customers and helping them fulfill their tool reservation, performing tool repairs as needed, organizing and maintaining inventory, working with our online inventory software, and responding to calls regarding tool checkouts.

Urban Farm

Volunteers play a key role in gardening and farming operations at our Urban Farm with tasks and activities including planting, weeding, tilling, and harvesting, as well as landscaping and general maintenance of farmland, greenhouse, and playground equipment.

  • Physical labor and working outdoors
  • Attention to detail

Office

Volunteers provide essential support in our main office by assisting with a variety of clerical tasks, like answering the front desk phone, scanning documents, and organizing files.

Housing

Volunteers with our housing and neighborhood building program help complete vital home repair and maintenance projects, addressing safety and livability concerns as well as storm and derecho damage. Projects and tasks may include small projects like painting and landscaping, as well as larger projects like carpentry, roofing, and weatherization.
